It’s no secret that prevention is vital to lead a long and full life. Then it shouldn’t come as a surprise that one of the fastest growing fields in healthcare is nutrition. Dietitians study dietetics and nutrition and offer practical advice on health and diet, based on their scientific know-how of nutrition. As a dietitian, you would be responsible for:
- Calculating patients’ nutritional requirements based on their blood chemistry, temperature, stress and mobility, and advising them on an optimum diet;
- Analysing the nutritional content of food;
- Conducting dietetics-related research, for example, on the effects of diet on cancer treatment or the impact of health policies on behavioural change.
Your work would help to improve the diet, health and well-being of the population.
